On a variety of levels the piece references relationships and family dynamics while also elevating the status of the ordinary and easily discarded object of a tire.  Creating a contrast of what is otherwise hard, heavy rubber material and transforming it into a delicate precious object.  The tire operates as a metaphor for things both personal and universal.   This work is just the beginning of a body of piece that reflects elements of my personal life and current issues in the world.  This is the inaugural piece for an entire body of work to come in the next year.
